I dont think its anything to do with him vs Tom, for the record i think Tom would beat him.

Its about you implying that he hadnt really had a car crash he just bottled. That isnt going to sit well with people.

I think it's unfair that you have suggested that Stephen is using being involved in a car crash as a reason to avoid competing against Tom.
In fact I'd go as far to say it's pretty classless

Well said macca knowing how revved up Stephen was for the challenge of the ipf worlds he would have been just as revved up for a head to head battle with Tom. Would of been a hell of a battle and whoever would have won it can only be a good thing for British Powerlifting.

Didn't Manuel recently come second or third at the world's or euros? He's a class lifter and I don't think he deserves this conjecture.

All we know is its a car crash, so it's a car crash.

He came 2nd at the IPF Classic to someone who set world records. Not bad! And there's no way he's running scared, that's just stupid to suggest.

Was really looking forward to watching these two go at it. Shame screamer can't lift.
Think it would have been pretty close. Think Tom would have the win by the end of the day with his pull.
It would be a big ask for Steve to put together another performance like he did at the world classic. It looked like a lot of training went into it.
I'll be joining them next year maybe. Doing my first international at 93kg on Saturday. In equipment though and pulling sumo!

93 class. Squatted 280, Benched 187.5, Deadlifted 305 (took a huge jump to 335 on his third for the win)

Real shame he's injured, would have been a great contest to watch

Cheers. He looks a lot heavier than 93 - or at least did so at the end of last year when I saw him compete.

Anyway, you've got to be in it to win it IMO Happy

My favourites for the weekend are keys and Ali

I don't think they'll both win they're just my favourites. X
