Been flat out like a lizard drinking today and hence couldn't fit much of a session in Unhappy

Reading in chaos and pain about Jamie Lewis going out and nailing a 500lb dead in jeans stone cold inspired me!

Deads - in jeans, no specific warm up at all

225kg x 3
225kg x 3
225kg x 3
180kg x 3
180kg x 3
180kg x 3

Easy as anything and Phillipi light week done. Probably a stupid idea but I like a little danger sometimes Happy

On the plus side, despite missing a big session knees are feeling better and my new carb diet is feeling great and amazingly weight seems to be dropping fast.

Another big work day tomorrow then masses of strict pressing, standing lockouts and maybe some trap bar pressing due Thursday, I may even try some concept rower intervals out too.

For today i'll take 3 stone cold triples at 225kg and happy knees. Right off to do paperwork Unhappy

Nice cheeky little deadlift session.

Cheers Taz, appreciated mate.
I do strict work on Thursdays mate and tbh that is my main concern but I am trying to slowly bring my axle up now, doing it from now on in The Ox Method - I know that works!! Hopefully by adding in those standing strict lockouts and maybe some of this trap bar strict pressing things will keep moving nicely Happy
Sounds like you've had some mental strict pressing increases mate, what program took you from 85 to 100 mate??

Sounds like you have a good plan mate. In terms of my increases, admittedly I was destined for increases almost instantly as I always trained seated so in a short period of time I made decent gains from just performing the pressing standing (added benefit of having to clean the weight aswell!).
In terms of routines if I remember correctly I got a fair amount out of RM Squats, but also used it for OH pressing on same day. I found it gave me more confidence as it was decent weight and reps twice a week. After that I think I did a few weeks with bands, 5s and also 1/3/5 method (VGs FEM training worked wonders!). I may go back to the FEM training, enjoyed it.

Ha that's nothing for you.

I'm pretty sure your back is so well conditioned it can handle an instant top gear set. Goes to show the level of strength you can call on at any time.

Nice change of pace and style. This journal is in no danger of becoming repetitive Happy

So, your diet is now basically a classic carbs in the morning-before training-after training thing?

Ah ok, I guess going seated to standing gave a nice jump. RM is on the cards for the future but I think i'll give my route a fair chance for now and see what it brings! What work did you do with the bands mate?

Cheers for advice mate Happy

Lol, thanks mate Happy

Yes mate, carbs all the way through the day and protein but low fat, carb cut off late afternoon then protein and fats high. So far working great and weight dropped below last weeks skipload already, sleeping better and more energetic - so far so good Happy

100kg sandbag pick, bear hug and run 20 mtrs drop and repeat x 4

30 minute 30kg chain walk

1 day of scaffolding and roofing work

That'll do for today - huge press session tomorrow with luck at the gym.

My knees are in a bad way, looks like Patellar Tendonitis I think. I'm rolling and stretching every spare second and it goes instantly but returns not long after.

It looks like squatting and push pressing may have to stop to allow healing, pretty piŁ$ed off tbh, i'll see how the next few days go before deciding if I have to.

Best to rest up and let it heal though mate. I'm sure you can find other stuff that won't hurt your knees. Does things like yoke and other weighted walking bother you? How about snatch grip deadlifts?

Don't sweat the push press, just get your strict up, work both sessions as strict and aim for 100kg by year end.

Having stuff like this is a real pain in the arse but it will only stop you if you let it, there are always options.

It would have been different if you had a history of back injury or you were a normal sane person who does normal sane volume. When your deadlift session contains about 100 reps at ~85% 1RM you know that your back is pretty well conditioned. If it was anyone else then yeah it would be stupid, horses for courses really. A first rep 90% squat would be a bad choice for you with your knee issues but could be perfectly acceptable for someone else.

For you that was a borderline sensible session. In fact it feels like the calm before the storm, there's a monstrous 15 hour marathon session coming. I can feel it in my bones.
