I know what you mean Wayne. I’m halfway between Gatwick and Heathrow, just inside the M25 and the skies are usually full of planes above us. For the last few weeks I’ve hardly seen a single one. The ones I have seen I believe to have probably mostly not been public commercial flights.

Interesting Member 6186, 245 posts | It is just history repeating itself. The 1918 flu, lasted a year, over 50 million plus dead. The world will adjust, the virus will have to be part of life and hopefully weaker or maybe disappear for a time, but never go away, coronavirus do not just go away, they go back into reservoir hosts, simply lurk and re-emerge. They will find treatments but not a cure. This requires serious time and the World economy does not have time. Unless we go to a police/nation global system like Russia or China. Maybe that is the plan, who knows. All the figures are manipulated also, China's figures are not true reflections and I doubt a lot about the other figures also. We can make internet and wonderful mobile phones, send a man into space, make outstanding vehicles but we have not since 1930 invested sweet FA into threats from pathogens. Not one government can call it, they have all been inept. They f**ked up the lot of them across the World. Sad so many people have to die due to complete and utter incompetent by fat cat global politicians and global institutions. Now they will suffer and the World Economy, and watch them wake up or is the real goal to create a new global economy with no small business just big business running the complete show. Who the f**k knows, what a sorry mess and suffering for lack of investment into these types of threats.

‘downsizing’ Member 5704, 3221 posts SQ 280, BP 210, DL 320810.0 kgs @ 96.3kgs UnEq | If there is a test for antibody presence available, why isn’t this being rolled out ASAP.. we need to find out how many have actually had it and policy can be based on that. at the moment, it seems everything is a panic stricken response to death rates based on hospitalisation cases.. I looked at some stats: 9% of people hospitalised with flu end up dying. I am getting increasingly convinced the government don’t want to find out “facts” because all those who’ve lost their jobs, lost their homes, lost businesses, over something with an actual fatality rate little more than flu, will at minimum never vote for them again and worse cause huge civil unrest.

I'm pretty much the same, but I'd replace convinced with concerned, at this stage at least. There's a lot that doesn't add up to me.

Interesting Member 6186, 245 posts | It comes down to two important things :- Life :- We need to know who are and have been infected and what is the actual severity and mortality. Reproductive number 2.2 Covid 19 v 1.2 Flu is what I can see. Mortality rate could be below 1 percent, but no confirmed figures. We need mass testing and urgently. Livelihoods :- This is one which could see the downfall of a lot of governments if they got this wrong, The USA administration's big selling point was their so called strong economy but that can come crashing down and putting a new administration into the oval office by the end of the year. As for the UK we got Boris & Co for four more years but he could be like Clement Attlee and do the unthinkable under a conservative administration and create another welfare state and nationalisation with utilities and major industry. Interesting to see how Corbyn and Co would have handled this. I find it laughable how the UK are now relying on the low paid workers :- shop workers, lorry drivers and health care workers, the very people the conservatories have kept on the bottom of the ladder and now they need their help more than ever, most will be part of a trade union, what a turn around. Just as important I hope people will stop praising pathetic so called celebrities and the famous elite for actually contributing nothing to life other than a selfie, time to get real and think what really is important. A lot of people had their priorities all wrong.

I have similar thoughts but I cant get my head around how that contrasts with what 'appears' to have happened [be happening by some accounts] in china and the chaos which is occurring in iran - havent seen it reported on much in the mainstream but multiple members of their leadership dead, many doctors dead, riots breaking out in multiple prisons and a number of vids of ppl collapsing in the streets a la china from a the beginning of the year. hard to square that circle. only things I can come up with are that this thing is hard to shake off and just keeps coming back stronger and iran and china are just a lot further down the line than anywhere else. or [in super conspirafoil hat mode] there is some sort of deception afoot.
