His 'Cosmos' series in the 80's brought cutting edge science to the masses in an understanding and unpatronising way. It was re done earlier this year and hosted by Neil DeGrasse Tyson who was a student of Sagan's. It was that much of an event that Barack Obama did the opening of the first episode. I think Sagan was involved in every lunar mission. Tragic that he died so young with so much still to give. Twenty years ago - "We live in a society absolutely dependent on science and technology and yet have cleverly arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. That's a clear prescription for disaster." | ||
