I remember reading something quite persuasive that it's not actually a flexibility issue but a structural one, ie some people wont be able to do it comfortably with all the stretching in the world. | ||

It's the anatomy of the acromioclavicular joint. The gap between the acromion and the clavicle is very variable between individuals and if you have a small gap, you're going to get tendon impingement when you do overhead pressing. Behind the neck pressing requires more external rotation of the shoulder and narrows the gap even further, so if you have an already small gap then a BTN press will just mess you up. | ||

Avatar not found I might destroy the planet Member 2745, 803 posts | I just joined to ask something like this. Does that mean soem people can never do jerk, or snatch properly as well? I cant get my arms back when i over-head lift. I have to lean back a tiny bit. | ||

I think mobility work will help with your oly lifting goals... however, I don't really care much about that.. 220 squat and 280kg deadlift at 77kg.. wow, I'm impressed, get a log up and running mate. | ||

I have a nice power clean and press and would love to start oly lifting properly. I throw the weight up easy enough in the jerk but can never hold it because it's way infront of me. | ||
