Only competed for the first time last year in the GBPF. Recently bought some strongman equipment from JT cause i fancied a go at strongman this year. Got a log, axle, farmers, thick dumbell. I've never really been to gyms to train, as i have a power rack set-up at my parents house with bench, pull-up, dips, cables etc. Last year i competed in the GBPF unequipped british 125kg class for the first time and did: 220kg squat 180kg bench 290kg deadlift my gym lifts are: 240kg squat 195kg bench 295kg deadlift Aims 2011 260kg comp squat 215kg comp bench 330kg comp deadlift I also aim to compete in some strongman comps this year for experience. Been ill recently and dropped strength and bodyweight and aim to sort that out soon. My plan from this week onwards is to do sack off low reps for a bit, do some high rep stuff and work my way back to low reps by May for a powerlifting comp. Appreciate any imput. Cheers. | ||

Haven't done high reps for a very long time (about may 2010) as i hate doing them! so i expected s**t workouts 2 weeks ago which were as follows: (all lifts are raw and beltless, straps used where stated) day 1 Squats (all paused at the bottom as low as poss, ass on calves) (dunno what my aim is with these. just to improve as best i can.) 100x10 120x10 120x10 130x10 130x10 140x10 (kind of starting from stratch with my squats focusing on improving strength at the bottom by squatting as far i can) attemped front squats (only just started with these) 60x10 100x5 really tired so did no more day 2 Bench (slight pause on chest) (aim for min 150x10 with these in a few weeks) 60x10 100x10 130x10 140x8 (forgot how knackering it was to do high reps lol) 140x9 incline (knackered) 100x8 100x7 100x8 dips bw 3x10 day3 deadlift (paused on the floor on each rep) (aim for 230x10 with these in a few weeks) 100x10 150x5 200x10 210x10 210x10 bent-over rows 100x10 130x10 140x10 150x10 (straps) too tired for SLDL or Pull-ups Day4 Assistance(First time at my new log and axle!) Log press (1clean, strict) 70x10 90x6 90x6 afterwards i had a mess around cleaning different weights. Not sure if i'm doing it right but found that rowing it whilst trying to curl and roll it up your body seemed to be my technique. shoulder press (oly bar, strict) 80x7 (shoulder really tired, not used to reppage!) 80x8 CGBP 125x9 125x9 125x9 seemed to just have no energy after 9 reps lol above supersetted with Axle bar curl (i think the bar weighs between 30kg and 40kg so i'll just put the added weight for now) 30x7 30x7 30x7 So anyway that was that week's attempt at getting fitter with high reps. This week i was ill so did nothing. The plan is to go back to Squat in the next few days. | ||

Squat 60x10 100x5 130x10 130x10 130x5 (felt terrible, knew the workout was over) front squat practice 60x6 60x6 60x6 called it a day. still feeling rough but need to do a bit. | ||

i love food Member 1042, 441 posts SQ 265, BP 212.5, DL 325802.5 kgs @ 129.1kgs UnEq | Dunno what's up with me lately but i put it down to working too much, not enough sleep and not enough food. i'm now only 18st12lb/120kg which is the lightest i've been for about two years. feel tired and weak. had a go at a deadlift session and finished it rather quickly 60x10 100x5 150x3 200x2 210x10 210x6 210x3 210x1 150x10 (even this felt horrible. there's defo something up with me) finished it there and decided to concertrate on more sleep, food and making time for my workouts. the aim was to crack over 300kg dead and 200kg bench in a comp in may but need to sort myself out. | ||

Barx10 100x5. +20x10 125x9. +30x8 125x9. +30x8 125x9. +30x8 125x9. +30x8 Axle bar (DOH) hold (first time with these, thought they might help with grip) +80 40s +80 38s +80 20s. (Knackered. But really enjoyed these. Will make them a staple in workout routine) | ||

Hack squats 100,150,200kg different reps. Ran out of time but will bring these back to my workouts. Progress with squats, felt good, form good. Hopefully back to decent weight in a few months. Progress also with fronties. Actually managed to hold the bar in the right position and is feeling more comfortable. Still using rubbish weight but I'll get there. | ||

After messing around with the axle and nearly putting it through the floor i have decided not to do cleans with an axle until i get some wheels and tyres and use it outside. Axle press (strict) +60x7 +60x8 log clean and press 70x5 90x3 100x3 90x3 80x5 CGBP -supersetted with- Axle (reverse) curls 130x6 +30x7 130x6 +30x7 130x6 +30x7 DOH axle bar hold +80 about 40 secs +140 about 20secs +140 10 secs | ||
