Member 2896, 722 posts SQ 202.5, BP 150, DL 260612.5 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Is there any perticular reason why he shifts his right hand over a couple of inches at the end of the clean before he jerks it. Only asking because i have noticed which ever foot i put forward in the split, that side seems to exert more power. So if i put my right foot forward my right arm seems to push it more and vise versa. Does that have anything to do with it or do i just have appauling tech? | ||

Really glad he is doing well as the AZE teach coach. Apparently Ivan Abadjiev has said that he was one of the hardest working guys he ever coached. | ||

On the third lift on the clip you see some elbow movement as he recieves the weight... Which I think over the years contributed to him completely dislocating this jiont attempting to lift a world record 205.5kg clean and jerk No biggy though about six months later he won the worlds I think... As you do Unless I'm wrong the clean and jerks where you see his right hand shift are after and as a result of this injury I could be wrong though | ||

These lifters are tough cookies that's for sure Did anybody see the lightweight woman lifter (may have been under 58kg from BLR) go out... Well sent out... After dislocating her elbow on her first snatch only to worsen it on the next two attempts and fail to make a total...? The name Novikara or something rings a bell and I think it was at the Europeans just gone Shocking stuff I thought but the coaches were more pissed off that she didn't get the lifts! Anywho!... To me at least, this in itself displayed how determined and also how downright tough these weightlifters are and have to be to get to where they want to be Whether or not they are created by the sport or if at the top level these people are simply made of different stuff is anybody's guess | ||

If it is BLR then it is similar to Rybakou at the Olympics this summer, looked like he could barely walk and was sent out for 180, 180 and then 185 snatches. | ||

He had the 69k record with a 160k snatch in Lahti 1998, this is vid. I'm going to find that category on my Sky box now as I think it's recorded At 77kg Plamen snatched 173kg at an IWF Grand Prix held in Qatar which is why that particular world record went unfilmed and largely unnoticed | ||

Well it was 12 years ago since Georgi snatched the 69kg world record in Sydney... I guess (especially with YouTube) it seems more recent a battle between him and Boevski When I watch weightlifting I still expect to see these guys, and others, not realising they don't lift anymore lol But often they turn to coaching (Leonidis, Sabanis and Smallsy's mate Yilmaz are all good examples) so it's all good | ||
