How is there no thread about this?

3 for 3 so far. Brits are on fire!
Loving the stoltman bros and how much they support each other. Luke is so proud of his 'little' brother.

The heats all have the same events this year. That's new I think?

Edit: Ha ha. Love my pie face avatar. Thanks Boar.

That's what I was thinking.

Yes, the Brits are doing great Happy

Yes, first time it's been the same events in every heat.

Not keen on the 600kg yoke and seeing it being lurched forward tiny distances.

The Australian guy in tonight's show was very likeable.

Not keen on reps being timed. Equal reps should mean equal points.

Not the most entertaining events, but I prefer the 90's for that. However, the Brits performances make it the best WSM in a while for me.

dont like the 600 yoke either Wayne.

Tom Stoltman the younger is a huge potential. LIke a young Thor.

I can’t see Tom Stoltman ever winning World’s to be honest. Not with Kieliszkowski around

I've hardly managed to watch any of it so far this year. Thank the lord for catch-up tv!

I think Tom Stoltman comes across as a really affable bloke on tele. Passionate about his family and the sport and it's nice to see someone smile rather than just screaming or gurning.

Clearly seen as a TV show, how much time is actually spent showing the events? Not much.

The Brits have done great shame we have to wait 6 months to watch it!!

I am pleasantly surprised by how well Eddie has taken to co-presenting very enjoyable to watch.

Different pressing event in tonight's show.

Not nice seeing Loz get injured (even though I knew it was coming) Unhappy

Me either, but, no one saw Loz beating Thor at Europe's a few years ago.

I'd kind of prefer Luke to win it tbh.

I really like Special K however...he has a f**ked lower back and being unable to make up for low scoring deadlifting events - I cant see him ever wining until/ if its sorted. Martins has the smaller explosive frame with the big lifts so he may struggle to ever get top podium against Martins him and the larger boys

I still like to see the smaller explosive man on top. More impressive and (look) healthy compared 30st plus gigantious genes...

When my little Vikings watch the final with me..I know it will be more exciting this year for them to see the smaller man come out on top.

I think his deadlifting is improving massively. His pb is 420kg now

Some random thoughts, having watched the lot today and yesterday:

I was really happy to see the same events in ever hear, until they f**ked it by changing from log to circus dumbbell for the last two heats. WHY? ar****les.

I think Novikov was absolutely robbed. Two reps turned down in the deadlift and one in the press, all of which were as legit as many others imo. Should have been Shaw in that stone-off, and that would have been very interesting.

Licis was awesome, and what a great advertisement for the sport he is. Every bit as marketable as Mariusz was.

Were the finals normally five events? Seemed short to me.

Eddie was an excellent presenter, no surprise to anybody who's been watching Eddie Eats America (which I recommend, he's a natural presenter, and it's fun). I'd love to see Eddie and Loz not only presenting but doing the commentary in future. Be nice to have some actual expertise, wouldn't it.

What Novikov did with the straps was ridiculous though, obviously no rules at the moment to stop it but just plain bad sportsmanship to even do it, those type of straps should just be banned. (Yes i know pretty much everyone else uses them too). And his deadlift lockouts where a bit shady.

On the Dumbell though i feel like he was reffed stricter than a lot what i have often seen in the past, was really made to wait prove he was stabilised, but again this is how it should be.
