Member 5226, 180 posts SQ 310, BP 205, DL 345860.0 kgs @ 167kgs UnEq | My trusty strengthshop Thor wrist wraps are finally starting to give way. I've had them for a long time and had excellent use from them, so no complaints atall regarding quality. I've been browsing strengthshop looking to potentially buy some new ones, and the metal black and silver ones have caught my eye. Does anyone here have a set of these? Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? As I'm just starting to train strongman style, almost all my pressing is overhead, with some close grip bench thrown in. What would you guys recommend, sticking with a new pair of thor's or maybe changing to a pair of metals? Or another brand maybe? All advice appreciated guys

A friend of mine said the metals were better suited to benching than overhead because they are so stiff, have you found your silvers ok to press overhead in?

I've had them around a year, I press in some form 3 times a week and often use them for heavy pressing assistance work also. It's also worth mentioning a friend of mine used them throughout that time so effectively doubling the use they took. I really liked them and thought they were miles better than my old wraps. I'd say if you've only had them a few weeks you have a long life out of them yet, great piece of kit, and they do soften a touch in time but also remain quite stiff, good quality
