cheers jonny! I hate cats. they s**t on my lawn.

Training today:

Power cleans:

60kg x 3
70kg x 2
80kg x 2
90kg x 1
100kg x 1
110kg x 1
117.5kg x fail

Squats:

100kg x 8
120kg x 6
140kg x 6

2 Hand pinch holds:

41.25kg for 20secs

Hangs:

BW + 80kg for 45secs

pretty good session. 110 p.clean felt pretty good but I just couldnt get 117.5 moving in the second phase. looking back I think I might have done too many warmups. will go soon.

squats were fun again. tried a higher bar which I liked. the 140x6 felt hard but I think thats as much a mental thing as anything as it didnt look too bad on the vid although I did loose my line a bit on a couple of reps.

cheers lads!

Training today:

2.5" Platform deadlift:

140kg x 5
160kg x 3
180kg 2 x 1
160kg 3 x 3
140kg x 5

Keg load:

95kg x 3

higher platform

95kg x 3
95kg x 6 in 75secs

deads felt harder than I wanted at the start but I made some minor adjustments in my technique and by the 3x3 @ 160 they felt miles better. the 140x5 at the end felt light as a feather. was a bit rusty on my keg loading technique. will add in a little carry before the load next time.

cheers lads! jt - the hobbit will be in attendance. he wants to do a bit of oh so im bringing the axle along. medleys sounds good but the keg is staying here for the moment. ive got 3 100kg sandbags there we could use though? and ive got a loading pin and handle we could use for a duck walk also. thats a killer at the end of a 3 event medley!

forgot to measure the nut on the yoke this weekend. ill find out this week.

hey what did you use to put the sand in before ramming them in the bag?

in other words, could you give us a lowdown on how you made your sandbags?

ok what you need:

sand x 4 25kg bags)

http://simplypaving.com/imagecache/mxw_600_mxh_500_20080125132...

woven polypropelene sandbag x 1 (the bigger the better)

http://www.strongarmequipment.com/images/dGKG6hpG7G8_-pmMTGjxS...

rubble sack x 2

http://www.qwikfast.co.uk/catalogue/images/silv5pkrubbsack6337...

duct tape x 2-3 rolls

http://www.needlesports.com/acatalog/ducktape.JPG

get one of the rubble sacks and put 3 of your bags of sand in one at a time packing them down as much as possible so there is no space between them. get the other rubble sack and put the remaining bag of sand in and pack it in again. then get the sack with just one bag in and kind of slot it upside down over the top of the other sack with the 3 bags in. give it a bit of a kicking until all the bags of sand are packed tightly together without any lumpy bits. next you need to get your polypropelene sack and pull it over the rubble sacks. should be pretty tough to do if the sand is well packed in. when the rubble sacks and sand are inside the polypropelene sack youve just got to tape the end and then cover the whole thing in duct tape. I think it usually takes a couple of rolls. job done!
