Unless there's an actual single governing body in strongman who sets the records and everyone agrees they are the governing body then pretty much any lift can be claimed as a world record I guess.

If it's more than anyone has ever done before and the weights are legit, then yes. The sport's not standardised, if that was a requirement, I guess there would be no Strongman records.

The claim that records can only be set is complete and total BS. Strongman records have been getting set at single lift events and record breakers days for ages.
They are no more full contest legit than a gym lift and arguably less so as at least WUS weigh everything first.

Would be absolutely made up to see Hixxy win that record.
Adding that alongside his powerlifting total would be perfect for static strength monster status, as if he already isn't.

But equally WSG or Stoltman would be great to push the bar, so to speak.

Hixxy himself won't count it as a record, even if he presses it. I personally think he and Luke will both get 230

I counted the others, so will obviously count this
