Of course he is out of form on the deadlift. It started at this years Asc where he lifted 40kg less than the year before. And as Graham hicks said in 2012 he lifted 5kg less for 8 solid reps and now this.
I would like to know what the reason is for this

Old age, wear and tear!

It isn't the first time he has been beat on deadlift.

Zydrunas must be injured, or still have whatever issue he had at the Arnolds.

He can't have weakened, thats simply not plausible.

The deadlift has probably cost z.. He needed to get 3rd really.. getting second in the truck has given him a chance but he'll need to win the log n stairs n get second in the stones which is possible but tough.. He also needs Shaw n thor to fail a 200 log

Dunno why everyone wasn't finishing the truck pull unless they made it much heavier than the heats...

Shaw and Thor failing at a 200kg is not very unimaginable. Its pretty certain Thor wont get it.
But Z winning the power stairs??? I dont know about that.I think thor will win it easily

0.5 behind Z going into day two. shame two of the events coming up are speed orientated

I'd say it's Shaw's now.

Thor will lose points on log.

Z has almost no chance. Thor and Brian will surely beat him in powerstairs given their deadlift performance and both will almost certainly beat him on stairs. Hopefully he sets a new log record so the competition isn't a total loss for him.

Great job by Eddie.

That truck pull must be heavy!

Pritchett proving what a s**t idea double points on stones was, no where in heats till then and no where now!!
Really good performance by Ed, getting better and better at these moving events, think it was last year he didn't finish the truck pull, this year 4th in final! Hope he smashes the last three events tomorrow and podiums, just wonder how his tricep is after the Arnolds

Great for Ed, 4th should be a dead cert and could even podium at the cost of z if he makes any mistakes. I think it's Shaws now too, although it would be pretty special if Thor won it. Especially since the events were first released and it was described as a 'heavy' final everyone wrote Thor off and said it was between Shaw and z

apparently he was injured before going into the final, but decided to go anyway instead of letting the first reserve go (kinda what Misha did a few years back)
I know you automatically get more money just for being in the final, but I don't really like that move

z is not weaker

his log and squat in training are in best shape

obviously had some issues this year with deadlift preparation
and beaten by thor and caron cost him chances for title

im surprised shaw beat edd deadlift

bad deadlift cost z second big competition

I wonder if z prioritised log so much his deadlift has suffered or perhaps from the large weight loss and then regain perhaps not full power returned on deadlift. That being said Shaw and thor and eddie are in top form and I don't think it's a case of Z being bad as much as others being very good this year. Shaw had bad injuries in recent years and maybe noe he's fully restored. I think it's going to be close. I hope eddie take a podium spot as he has worked hard enough for it this last couple years
