I've had so many cars I've lost track. But ones that stick in my mind are:

Worst: Fiat Punto GT turbo. Simply because it developed fault after fault, eventually got rid because it had a running problem that I couldn't get to the bottom of despite throwing a fortune at it. Next owner discovered one of the cam shaft lobes had rounded (!)

Best: I loved my S13 200sx's (had 6) great fun, but all either died a smokey, rattly death or terminal rust. I've had various Honda VTECs, my favourite, my Prelude VTEC with nitrous, bit of fast and furious fun! But the best overall would have to be the wife's previous mondeo estate. It was old, hand a dent in every panel, but never let us down once and we put some serious miles on it. It is comfortable, spacious, cheap to run, nice to drive, cheap for parts. Top motor. An unlikely best car.

Best:

1. Honda Prelude 2.3 auto. I hated driving until I had that car. It was my first quickish car and lovely.

2. Toyota Supra 3.0 TT auto - not the one in the other thread. I had this after the Prelude. Very quick, beautiful car.

3. Ford Mondeo. Cost £300, bought completely filthy and stayed that way until it was sold. 100% reliable, pain free motoring.

Honourable mention: Sue's Citroen ZX diesel. Until laid low by terminal rust, 100,000 miles of trouble free motoring. Surprisingly agile, indestructible engine and the boot swallowed bigger loads than Jenna Jameson.

Worst:

1. Toyota Supra TT - the one in the pics on the other thread. Such a fantastic car, but ultimately ate huge amounts of money and took years to get it working properly. Fast as f**k, but on a pound-per-mile basis, it was more expensive than the Space Shuttle.

2. Fiat Panda. Rust in Pieces.

Yeah, the japs are usually the most fun and reliable, but money pits once the power bug bites. And italians will most likely be the most annoying ever. Good old Mondeos, cheap but good at everything.

Best car ive owned would have to either be the 1992 BMW M3 and the 2004 Civic Type R - both fast and great fun to drive.

Worst car ive owned was a Golf VR6 2.8 that cost me £110 a week in fuel, £2100 to insure at 18 and lasted 6 months because the engine seized so i sold it for spares and repairs.

Also had an Evo 7 when i was 20 which i had for 2 months which falls into both caterogies as it was great fun but a fortune to run.

Honda's and BMW are great, especially the M3 and Type R. So much power out of an engine with no turbos.

Best- 1983 audi 80 sport, first car, fast and handled like a go cart.
second car was also great, 1989 Cav SRI-was a s**t hole but nice and quick
The above cost £250 each. Also good was my last car, a W reg 2 litre zetec Focus, nice to drive, and pretty quick really. Sensible though.

Worst- tried to go sensible and cheap to run and got a 1.1 1996 Punto after the SRI. Head gasket blew on the way home from picking it up (testing it's max speed) Got towed back to dealer and got my SRI as a courtesy car, but he'd already made it worse by adding chrome wheel trims (It just had black steel wheels) Was about to race a Clio Williams from the lights when I saw them laughing at the trims! turned left instead. Unhappy

You would be correct in saying that. I work for a Vauxhall/ Saab main dealer and the 9-3 is the same chassis, engine and running gear as a Vectra but with the Saab body.

Robocop- RS turbos, crap (by todays standards) but great!

I bought a Fiesta RST for 180 quid, spent about 400 making it road worthy and it was the coolest motor in my little town by a long way! It had so many probs from start to finish, but I loved it. Swapped it for an orion with an RST engine in the end. That was rubbish but great too!
