I've always been told to wrap above to below the knee, whilst overlapping, and cross in front of the knee if there is enough length. One of the older bodybuilder guys told me last night I should only wrap above and below, but leave a gap for the kneecap itself?

What is correct? If there is a youtube tutorial you recommend please share.

I go from one full wrap width JUST below the knee, up 5 times to just above the knee, once more around the top layer, cross down over the knee, cross back over the knee then twice around the top again.

The video that was in this thread ( http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/forum/The-best-way-to-wrap-knee... ) was brilliant, but looks like its no longer available. Showed loads of different ways of wrapping, think the video was by APT wraps??

Most people I know wrap bottom of knee to the top, like how Tom said, I tried a sub cross wrap once and seemed to get the most carryover from it compared to others.

i think it's more an indication of a very tight wrap. seen tom getting wrapped in comps.

something to make sure you do if you are getting a super tight wrap off a handler/coach is to get used to the feel in training.
i made the mistake in brits of getting my second attempt wrapped by my handler for first time (first attempt opened too high and felt heavy so thought 'i'll get chris to do them, that'll add some kilos') anyway it changed everything and not surprisingly badly missed the squat.
