I'm sure this has been discussed before, but whats the general consensus of opinion on this : if you are going to do cardio and weights in one session, should you do cardio first or weights ?
Thanks folks.www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">

I do heavier weights and then do lighter weights faster or supersets. Done

I would split sessions by at least a few hours.. but if you have to do them all in one block do weights first - if you’re fatigued from cardio beforehand not only is strength going to be affected but technique off.

^This

I went for a run last night. There's sod all chance I'd have been doing any weights afterwards without using piss poor weights or without risk of injuring myself. Obviously, it depends on how intense the cardio is but I reckon in 99% of instances it'd be best to do the weights first

A bit of gentle cardio could be a good warm-up, but for anything more substantial I'd say to do the lifting first.

Warm up.
Mobility.
Resistance Exercises.
Conditioning.
Core Exercises.
Stretching.

If you want to get "fit", don't expect to PR on the squat.

If you want to PR on the squat, don't expect to do sub 7 minute 2k ergs.

Ive done sub 7 2ks whilst increasing strength. If the conditioning work isn't too high volume then it won't affect your strength gains really

What’s cardio? Is that like the walk from the changing room to the squat rack?
