I think WADA is to blame here for UK's lack of medals. We all know certain countries do what they like, leaving us at a big disadvantage. I know of a world class athlete in a certain East European country (where they win a lot of Weightlifting medals!) on the wada out of competiton testing, and he takes what he likes all year round! Never gets tested. It's a joke. | ||

Yes, i was annoyed when i went to watch the 105's in London I know in athletics, the world governing body have their own testing for the very elite guys, not sure if it's like that for other sports. So if you are just about world class, and on local wada out of comp testing, they seem to not give a s**t. Infact it gets worse! I won't say why i know this. But i know this guy is being helped by someone that works in the local wada lab. He tells him current detection times, he only has to worry about his major comps. Also in another east euro country, another world class athlete there never gets tested either, but he's not a cheat anyway. But he mentions they commonly test the lesser athletes. Possibly because they don't want to catch the better ones | ||

Long before WADA/UK Sport were involved we still didn't win medals in weightlifting at the Olympics | ||

I thought each country had a group assigned by WADA. I don't actually speak to many British athletes, so have no idea how it works here | ||

Funding for many sports was bound to take a dive after olympics. Probably very justifyably so. There's only so much cash to go around. Whether that's handled inefficeintly or not. WL is not a big sport in UK or likely to medal at major events so hardly a shock. Obviously I'd vote for it to be otherswise, but then I don't give a s**t about sailing, shooting or cruelty to horses. Hence my opinion would mean little to the powers that be  | ||

Non Stamford was 2013 ITU triathlon World Champion and Jodie Simpson runner up so arguably we have the best two women and two of the best three men in the World at Olympic Triathlon!!! Also it is apparently the fastest growing sport in the country. You can't really ask for much more than that can you? | ||
