The_Lechamotive | Wearing a weightlifting belt, am I doing it wrong? | 27-09-2014 @ 14:26
balls one size too big Member 338, 604 posts SQ 175, BP 130, DL 210515.0 kgs @ 100kgs UnEq | Wore a belt for the first time in my life today for some front squat doubles. I don't think I got much out of it really. So here's the question: How tight should you wear it and where is the optimum position on your midsection? Love and respect.

#biggef Member 5263, 3492 posts SQ 260, BP 195, DL 260715.0 kgs @ 130kgs UnEq | I suppose it depends on each person I personally find the belt a bit rubbish when it comes to dead lifting or any pulls, but squats okish but I find it very useful when it comes to yoke, farmers and overhead pressing.stupid question but when you use yours do you push against it? If you do you'll know what I mean also my belt position will depend on the exercise, for example belt is higher when over head pressing but maybe lower when squatting..but I only use belt when it gets heavyish, I try not to rely on it as if you wear it all the time for everything you may miss a bit of core strengthening maybe.just IMO :-) :-)

Member 5515, 286 posts SQ 200, BP 130, DL 210540.0 kgs @ 87kgs UnEq | You'll have to experiment a bit to see where you get the most out of it, as I prefer it to be situated and tightened differently depending in the lift. What should remain constant, however, is that you suck in as much air as possible into your midsection & push out against the belt.

Sugdens crazy old person. Member 4936, 7288 posts SQ 270, BP 155, DL 270695.0 kgs @ 100kgs UnEq | I only wear my belt doing the yoke. I wear it higher than most. It is like 40 am here. My misses snores louder than the 2 previous misses I must leave work in an hour. I just got done recording her. Belts are only good to hold up your pants.

Another use for your belt sir Wow that's amazing who'd have thought that a belt could be so deadly'although he seemed quite out of puff demonstrating the deadly nature of the properly implemented humble belt. I'm going to practice these deadly techniques between sets at the gym tomorrow I think the power rack maybe the perfect place :-) :-) :-) :-)

You know what I've injured my si and really didn't find the belt that much cop tbh might be different for you.i think if you can try and get hold of one of them si joint belts it sits lower and supports were needed, the WL belt seemed to sit too high for me.I borrowed mine from the chiropracters. Just a thought :-)
