So as the new year looms I think it's time to start a new journal for my 2nd year of strength sports. The focus this year is on powerlifting and to get my static strength up.

The focus is on both equipped single ply and unequipped.

I am currently running Brandon Lilly's Cube Method and finding it great. Time will tell if my lifts go up!

20 x 10
70 x 5
100 x 5
130 x 3
150 x 5
170 x 5 - big beltless PB
150 x 5

Very pleased with these.

Bench
20 x 10
20 x 10
70 x 5
Titan Ram
100 x 3
120 x 3
140 x 3
150 x 3

Sumo Deadlift
All Beltless
70 x 5
110 x 5
150 x 5
190 x 3
210 x 4 - beltless PB for any type of deadlift

I was going to do 3s but pushed 4 out at 210 as it felt good.

I haven't got my belt back yet hence the beltless session again. Felt good though.

good luck on your powerlifting journey mate, was good to see and 'compete' (if you can call my performance anything Tongue) at newark's novice last summer, does that mean you're giving strongman a break too?

Cheers dude. Yes I enjoyed that comp very much, mainly as I did ok!

The problem is I have no intention of losing weight for 105s as my strength will drop and I'm happy with my progress at the moment. There's nothing really for me to do Strongman wise and my intention when I started training was geared towards powerlifting and now I train with a great team it makes sense. I'm not strong or big enough to do opens comps and compete with the big boys and I don't really want to do anymore Novice comps. Inters are few and far between. Plus my overhead is wank, which I blame on my wanky shoulder.

I will no doubt do a strongman comp or 2 next year as long as it doesn't clash/interfere with my PL. The Salt Ayre Classic again for example would be a good one to do Happy

I'm too heavy for 105s mate. I can't anyway as I'm doing a BPC comp in Folkestone on the Sat 13th in the 125 class! Grin

They were there until recently but they're a bit skewed at the minute as some are equipped and some aren't! When I touch down with a decent shirted bench I'll update!

Lol, my squats are as deep as yours! In fact didn't you fail your last comp squat on depth?! Wink

Yesterdays were good and to depth. My stretching helped!
