Opinions? Very well. Would have had a good chance of winning the frame carry, yoke and truck pull. Pudz has also pulled 415 so wouldn't have lost too many points on the deadlift. And he was great at log, would have been up there in 2nd or 3rd on log with 6-7 reps I imagine.

Opinions? i think personally if Pudz had never retired and kept going he would of done very well. top 4/5 but we have Shaw at the top of the wood pile in 2011 so for 2012 who will be there. i personally think Hafthor Bjornsson will take a lot of learning from this and will be better next year as TBH hes very much like shaw. was when he started. another one to look out for is Jenkins what a debut shame he was injured in the deadlift. but another one to watch. i think the top end of the strongman scene is as good as it has ever been and i really do hope that BSM will be on again next year. the standard we have now is huge terry Holands, Big Loz, Jack Mack, Mark Felix, Rob frampton and then these lads coming through Jay Hughes, Ken wookie, Ed Hall just to name a few. if BSM is on i think it would be a epic comp.

The BSM part of it was sh1t at times, as with it being a tv show there is little regard for the spectators. But Minehead is a nice little place and we had a cracking weekend, although that was maybe more to do with the company. I remember Adlington's Alan tearing Colin Bryce a new arse-hole over how it was being run. Bryce just looked at him in bewilderment, Alan had had a few Stella by then so he was on top form. Over all a good trip out, but dont expect it to be a wonderful spectator experience, lots of waiting around..

IMO you are right, for the weights when he competed, but I think these weights are a different kettle of fish, he never won the heavy frame or yoke at the Arnolds(I don't think) and basically stopped doing it cause he knew he wouldn't win it top 3 at this comp, all 170kgs+, I don't think that is a coincidence

Just as their static and moving strength had improved, so would Pudz He diod one less than Pounds 3-4 years ago when they had, 140 log for reps, so if he would have progressed, as the other athletes have in 3-4 years, would have nailed 6-7 on a 160 log You cant compare Pudzs capabilities 3 or so years ago, to what guys are doing now

And the guys did well in the heats too. I'd add my voice hoping BSM comes back, the sport is doing so well at the moment on all levels.

another lover of conans wheel Member 1116, 2379 posts SQ 275, BP 210, DL 330815.0 kgs @ 134kgs UnEq | have to agree, puds when competing was allways close to the top pressers and deaders. last time he competed he was 1 rep of log winner n one rep of dead winner i think. great at moving. yes the arnolds didnt suit him but i think he would have been competitive here at worlds this year.

Big Z is my hero and i am gutted he did not make it 3 in a row, but as i said yesterday fair play to shaw, if you look at the events they where stacked in Z fave, no keg toss, medleys or arm over arm, so shaw took him at his own game. shaw was unlucky a couple of times last year and to lose title on countback is tough, so this year the gods sided with him, as make no mistake had jenks and katona been fit i think they would have got 5 or more reps in log giving big Z that cusion going into the stones really happy for terry and Loz, what a great pair of top level athletes that many strongmen in britain can learn from and aspire to be like i can remember the days when the Brits use to go to worlds and make up the numbers, this year going into the last day of the heats 4 out of 5 where sitting in qualification positions, we got 2 in the final and one on the podium, we just need a champion now, but the future is bright
