I like strongmen types, I just like Brian more, unless he's up against Felix.

Only who's the worlds best strongman (as opposed the the worlds strongest man, which doesn't exist) Shaw, Hollands, Thor for the podium. Being big is no longer enough. Being giant is where it is.

embarrasingly poor bench Member 2684, 4043 posts SQ 240, BP 135, DL 275650.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 24.03.2016 @ 16:05 PM by Benvie With those events I think I'm struggling to see how Z can win without a drastic improvement in his deadlift. If he pulls about the 440 mark which most people seem to expect there are even other guys like Caron and Pritchett who could come between him and Shaw assuming they make the final. I could be proved wrong but I just can't see an event where he will make up big points on thor and Shaw like the max log and squat in the past two years. I hope thor wins and reckon he is unlikely to get a better chance to do so. I think it will be very close between him and Shaw though. Sadly I reckon that Ed is probably looking at 3d place at best.

Average hamstring at best Member 4663, 588 posts | I can't understand everyone saying terry will be up there. Judging by Britain's I think he'll do well to qualify out of his group. I hope I'm wrong and he has a really good year but I can't see it

I eat a lot of meat Member 5124, 3000 posts SQ 245, BP 130, DL 275650.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | As always it will come down to the athletes health and injury status going in, and then of course the events and the athletes getting through the heats without the curse of worlds crippling anyone. Every year a few of the guys suffer a serious injury in the heats, and I hope this year they somehow break free from that. I would expect if everyone is fit and on form for the usual suspects to battle it out. In no order, Brian, Z, Thor and Ed. They were the only 4 last year that got coverage in the final UK showing. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who feel that they can break the top 4, but who actually will? I would love to see Ed win, I honestly would, but he will need to give everything and also have some good luck on his side too if he is to take 1st. Z will just look like he is going through the gears and will be as always fairly consistent across the events to keep him in contention. If he doesn't win, no doubt it will be because he has a bad back. Brian and Thor are interesting... Both have amazing genetic ability and share similar qualities. Both seem to struggle in maximal overhead stuff, but are good at everything else. I give Brian the edge every time though if they're both fit. It will be interesting and I just hope we see all the guys on form to really push each other.

I hope I'm wrong and he has a really good year but I can't see it Terry always performs better over multi day comps, plus he is very experienced in this. It depends on what Terry shows up and also, if he can stay injury free. He should not be overlooked as a top 5 athlete.

Average hamstring at best Member 4663, 588 posts | I agree he performs better over 2 days. The events are different true, but I still can't see him being in the top 5, my guess would be eighth. I also think if everyone is fit it will be the strongest line up ever. I think loz will make the final too

I am from Germany so i know what i talk about. Member 5171, 1049 posts SQ 217.5, BP 160, DL 233.5611.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | If terry comes in top shape he will shock people. With his deadlift he already proved that he still can get better than ever. His pause from competing obviously paid off.
