It will be at the industrial estate where Unit 20 (our training hall) is, but in one of the larger units. This comp is for novices only. We'll leave it to your own discretion as to whether you enter or not, but if you have competed in national level comps (Englands, Wales's, Scotland's Strongest man, for example) then this is probably too light. The events roughly follow those at the Arnold classic and are: Event 1 - Axle press: 100kg, 2 inch thick axle, to be pressed from floor to overhead on each rep. 2 min time limit. Event 2 - 15inch deadlift: For maximum weight, rising bar. Event 3 - Yoke: 320kg, 10.8m, 30second time limit. Event 4 - timber carry: 10m up a ramp, approx 260-280kg. 30 second time limit.Event 4 - Yoke: 320kg, 10.8m, 75second time limit. Event 5 - Thick handle dumbell press: 50kg, maximum reps in 2 minutes. Reps start and end at shoulder. Event 6 - Stones: For reps over a yoke bar - two stone weights - 117kg and 135kg. One rep with 135 beats any number of reps with 117. 90 second time limit. Solid move. To be honest, we have the 12 guys already, and one reserve, but I'll check with the folk I think might not end up nailing it if they are 100% or not. Otherwise an oprtion is to up the numbers, but it depends on whether we're able to get a bigger unit for the day or not, we're still waiting to hear as far as I know. I will have a confrence with the other comitte members/promoters (ie - Jonathan) tonight, and will let you know for certain as soon as possible. Sure it will be fine though. Cheers You mean, another Sugden cocksucker to have his ass handed by the unit 20 guys?  The events are a bit f**ked up above. The ones I posted in Will's log are the most up to date ones, like you say, it's 15" as opposed to 18". Landie tyres should arrive this week I hope, and are on their way as far as I know. Then we (garry) just needs to do the welding of the plates. | ||
