50 euro is pretty steep in my book. If the venue costs so much why not find a cheaper/bigger one. Also if there are 28 competitors that's £1400! Don't get me wrong I know comps cost money to run, but I've never seen a price tag that high to compete. I thought sponsorship paid for a few costs?

That's actually £1,159, which doesn't seem like a lot to hire any venue for a couple of days.

As for sponsorship, I'm sure there will be sponsors, but what kind of opportunites really exist for them in u90 strongman? It's about as niche as you can get.

Europes strongest man u90kg 2012 paid for our accommodation and food and still paid for prize money. That was down to sponsorship. I'm not saying its as easy as that just to get sponsorship but they proved that comps can be put on to the best possible standard without competitor fees

I'd imagine sponsorship was easier to source as it was televised?

totally agree, it could be changed for a much better event. cant see it being very exciting.

the log seems a bit light as well, they had a 125kg log for reps in britains 2012. this is meant to show the strongest u90 men on the planet.

Did you experience any difficulty trying to order 'dinner' at lunch time and 'tea' at dinner time?
