I don't think it would be a great idea but alot of peoples point was that alot of guys don't want to get up to a massive 140+ bodyweight to be competiive at opens.

Not the most festive thread, but to add my views, I didn't vote. As someone who would naturally fit into that class, I can see the point. I don't want to walk around at 20st plus, as it impedes your everyday life (and I look a mess). However, I'm a bit torn by the notion of so many weight classes, as one of the things that has always attracted me to strongman is the rather extreme, freakish nature of the sport. I like that it's not accessible, easy etc. It's pretty much the point of it!

So...no idea. But I can't say I'd be that interested in competitions unless they led somewhere. A one-off u120 doesn't appeal. Having a weight class structure (like in the US) would make me consider it more seriously.

I think for it to ever work you would need a structure of competitions to lead to main events etc.

I voted yes, but then realised that it would be almost as heavy as "opens" anyway, so no real point.

I think if you don't want to be a giant beast than there's already 105kg for the fairly giant people.

If there was 120 then it would only be a year or two before people ask for 135kg weight class.

But i'm tiny so don't know the personal issues of literally being that size.

I think that there should be a weight class for every 2kg differential per person.
Then you can be a multi weight champion much easier.

I don't think there should be a120kg class. Its too Late now, but I think 105 is the wrong weight for a class. Should be something like 90 or 95 then 115 or 120,then opens.

You're forgetting that when the 105s was formed, most opens were 120-140, so a 115-120 class would have been nonsical

I don't think there's anything wrong with 120k weight class, I just don't think it would interest too many people. The top level guys at any weight class other than open are going to be depleting and cutting water so your looking at guys who are pretty much opens and opens is a much more prestigious devision than a newly started one.
