Carl, I'm sure you'll be coming in your pants after reading the title...

Ok I had my first competition in Unit20 in Edinburgh today. I came last but hit some PBs on four of the events with a bomb on the deadlift. I watched the videos that Ken made and overall I looked ok but obviously last isn't an option for the future.

Therefore its time to get the arse into gear and I think keeping a log may embarrass me into working harder.

Starting a new routine from Monday based on:

Day 1: Squat and Deadlift, back assistance and hamstrings

Day 2: Power work - power cleans, power shrugs, power snatches

Day 3: Overhead and triceps

Aiming to do more reps, more sets and generally take my balls to the wall.

Thank you everybody. Was a good experience but not the result I wanted.

Tony, I started training strongman in October with Andy Cairney, Ken and his brother Duncan.

Andy, what a c**t!

Today's training was at LA Fitness with Ken and Duncan. It didn't go down too well with the staff and others there.

My own session was s**t; my body is still really, really tired from Saturday. Legs were wobbling after warming up with 60kg.

Squats

Some warm up sets
Five or six sets with 100kg

Deadlift

Warmed up to 150kg where I only managed one!!! At this point I could hardly walk or stand on my own.

Two sets of touch and go with 110kg. 10 reps and 12 reps.

SLDL

One set with 70kg and one with 90kg

Done. I still feel sick five hours on and can't stomach food.

Did well today considering you competed 48hrs ago. LA Fitness is a s**thole though!!!
