snap - but as I said in another thread i am a lifter who is governed by own beliefs and often talk myself out of making a lift - especially with deadlifts!!!

I'm the opposite - I beleive i can do more than I can!!!!! More F's in my journal than on a retarded chavs school report card!

I can see this working, I bet a lot of us are "governed by our own beliefs" as someone else put it.
Mental attitude - belief - plays a HUGE role in lifting heavy.

I agree, if I have a niggling doubt in my mind about a lift then I'll prob fail it.. Some guys (Sob) do good jobs of talking themselves out of lifts!

That wouldn't have been SO bad but it was 290.....then an extra 5 on one side. I think 290 is heavy enough for that to be a bad idea! No more horse play Jack!

i was going to tell you about it and take it off before you lifted it but you noticed it straight away. not telling you would have risked an injury or something

My mate wanted 80 on the incline, was going to do 12 and when was talking I took both the 10s off leaving just 60 on the bar.

After lifting off the weigh he was like "mate thia feels so light today reckon I'll get 20 or 30 on this."

Then he realised

Personally surprise wieghts would not at all work on me, my mind is a lot tougher than my body. Already push myself much harder than sensible.
