Hi.

Ive already had some advise on my journal to do standing farmers hold light- and thanks for that.

I pulled a muscle on my collar bone 3 weeks ago doing farmers,
I did a comp last week and pulled the same muscle and additionally all the way from my trap to my head. Ouch.

Its eased off a bit but still stiff. Dr said rest rest rest.

Any further advise guys?

High rep shrugs. 3 x 20. Every day.

Start with 20kg, add 5kg each day.

Proceed for 1 month.

That sounds horrendous Danny. I've had a full on genuine trap issue in the past. I'd end up driving out to 24 hour supermarkets at 3am to buy any kind of medicine or cream to help soothe it even a little. The pain was horrendous, worse than my Cruciate ligament surgery recovery. I feel for you.

What I ended up doing was eating Tramadol and Paracetamol (2 of each every few hours) like a junkie, getting high as a kite and sleeping pretty much for a full week. Sleep is a temporary cure for pain.

So he ends on 170kg for 3x20 shrugs. Was the plan to get them so big as to not have any ability to feel things like pulls?

Get well soon sir Unhappy

I'd be trying to rest it and only doing exercises that don't bother it (are there any?).

160kg you mathematically challenged goat nobber.

The general gist is to get some high volume work done everyday, progressively increasing the load to get him stronger. It's a pretty standard rehab approach.

5 x 30 = 150.

20 + 150 = 170.

I'm going per week, as is usual in weightlifting tradition. 4 weeks = 1 month.

5 x 7 = 35
35 x 4 = 140
20 + 140 = 160

Anyway the gist of it is still the same. Progressively adding weight, everyday and getting blood to the muscle. Not a new concept! Why are you being so contrary!
