As I have recently started squatting heavier and doing much more events work on Saturday, i have been hammering my body more.

I also began to only train once a week mainly events but some gym stuff during the Christmas period. While doing this I made solid gains, my power clean, overhead, squat and deadlift went up 10kgs and my strict 5kgs in a month. I also lost all my niggles.

So i was thinking of doing less work. My training split would look like this.

Tuesday or Wednesday

Squat: warm up then 4 working sets (3 of which belted)
Clean and Strict: Warm up then 5 working sets
Deadlift: Warm up then 4 working sets
Bench: Warm up then 4 working sets
Rows: Warm up then 4 working sets
Weighted Plank: Warm up then 4 working sets
Cuffs and other bits and pieces for a short time

Saturday: Events

Do you think this would work? If you could work hard for long enough to get through it all with quality?

Cheers

Can you really do that with any proper effort all in one session? Or would you perhaps be better off dividing it in two, doing squat+other and deadlift+other alternate weeks?

Or even doing that over 2 days a week Happy

Don't forget that sometimes a change is as good as a rest, and perhaps you needed that for a brief period before you can step on it again. The once a week might not work long term in other words.
