Few weeks back I got a bit overenthusiatic with cleaning the log and badly strained both my bicep tendons (or so I thought). Right one seems fine now but left is still sore and I can't seem to contract my left bicep fully .. it still feel quite soft when it's tensed and the tendon is still sore. There wasn't any bruising but there was a lot of inflammation so I'm wondering is it just a really bad strain or perhaps a partial tear?

Cheers

i would have throught a strain.

my left arm was similar the past few weeks. Couldnt bend it or straighten it fully, bad pain right in the crease of the arm kind of a numb feeling. Just needed afew weeks rest and it was right as rain.

My laymans opinion, if it is weeks back, the bruising would have appeared already in case of a tear. It could appear anywhere, even on the other side of the arm, or nearer forarms, because the way blood travels due to gravity.

Sounds like a bad strain, be careful with it!

Agree with this. The beicep will have 'moved' or may seem as if some is 'missing', difficult to explain. Mick A had a aprtial tear, and his bicep moved about and inch up from the insertion at the elbow

I know its vague, but may help

A strain is a much smaller tear and will take a while to get better

I don't want to sound like I'm beating the same drum when I post on these threads but, have you seen a qualified professional about this injury? This will be your best method of determining the degree of unjury you have incurred and the most suitable rehabilitation treatment. Even if there was a professional on this site they would not give you a remote diagnosis. With respect to the guys on here they can only talk about what they did with "their" injury or offer some common sense guidance. It may cost you a few quid but I would say compared with the other expenses of training, supplements, gym fees etc it would be money well spent in terms of you being fit sooner than either doing nothing or worse doing the wrong thing.
