Deadlift

Not worth mentioning any of the warmups/build up sets then

170kg for reps in 75 seconds - 10 reps

The aim was 12-15 but I realised after the first 5 or 6 that it wasn't going to be.

This drug free comp in August has 180kg axle for reps in 75 secs and I'll be aiming for 15+ on the day so quite a bit of work to do.

Tricep Bar Push Press

5 sets of 5 with 70kg

This is painful to write. Shoulders have never been strong but this is just embarrasing.

Some kettlebell swings to finish.

Deadlifting twice in a few days? Nice to see you're still as crazy Pete.

JC: Not this week mate but, yeah, maybe in the next few weeks.

Joni: Cheers. Relatively speaking, I'm normally better with a few reps than with singles or doubles. I'd like to think that I just get in a zone and ignore the pain whereas for the low reps you actually have to be strong. Wink

Cuddles: I'm not done yet. LOL. I've got plenty more deadlift sessions lined up.

I normally become half decent with the DLs quite quickly. As you all know, the problem is that I do a few sessions then pack it in for a few weeks or months.....or longer.Tongue

Deadlifts again

180kg in 75 seconds - 12 reps. Muscle memory is kicking in very nicely.

Tricep Bar Push Press

Nice deadlifts Pete!

Why do you do your push presses on a triceps bar?

Thanks Jonny.

I'm doing my best to replicate the hand positioning of a log press because I can't see myself buying one in the near future.

Yeah it's close but it's the best option I have for the moment. There's no possible way that I could afford 250ish quid on a log.

Would you not be better off just pressing on an Olympic bar?
