Hope you enjoyed your seaside jaunt Jay. I am willing to bet the eating emporiums got hit hard!

As ever, some impressive stuff. It is also interesting to see someone being honest about their starting point. I have seen a lot of interviews etc over the years where people claim some ridiculous lifts for their 'first.' It is no doubt a bit offputting for those just starting out. I'd be interested to see what other numbers you began with.

I will join in and include mine (!) for the general amusement

Squat: thought my spine was going to snap with 60kg (after a few months of using machines). Probably failed on depth too.
Deadlift: 100kg - hate to think what it looked like
Bench: 40kg (as above - machine bench would have suggested I was stronger!) Got pinned by 60kg in same session!

BTW if Bob's comp is on (with a deadlift) I will certainly be heading your way some time for a practice session.

Hey Jay I'm sure you've seen this but I got round to watching "Pulling John" yesterday, even though I had no interest in arm wrestling, it looks to be a great sport and I had no idea it has such a big history throughout the ages in armies and stuff. Nor did I realise John Brzenk cleans house vs the big boys, NOR what an absolute freak of nature Alexey Voevoda is, holy Jesus what a guy that is.

All in all a GREAT documentary, inspiring stuff to apply to any sport.

And nice to have a training partner, I train on my own nowadays but it will be nice to have my brother train with me when he moves closer by.

Hey Smalls yep, love that film ,huge fan of Brzenk a real giant killer !!
And yes it is so important to have great company whilst training , it makes such a difference !

Kirk- hi mate ,new you'd love this !!! He has had some problems with his shouders and he now reverse grips his bench ala Anthony Clarke he tripled a sweet 190 raw reverse grip today and is very fast off the chest his bench numbers arent quite the same as mine but im sure he would have hit 220 raw with a pause!!
Were training squat next thursday and i cannot wait to squat with this guy , lovely lovely guy who has trained with the best ,Coan, Siders Kirk etc etc so it was a great pleasure today .

DAWS - cheers pal ,great fun
