Recently I lost my training diary which is extremely annoying. I bet Rob is less likely to lose the entire contents of this forum than I am to lose my diary again, so I'm going to try to keep some training notes in here too.

Most of you probably know me. For those that don't, here are a few notes.

I first competed in BAWLA in 1997 (I think I totalled 310 via 100-80-130 - lol), did a few comps then had a few years off competing (but kept training). I've had various back and knee problems over the years (some quite serious), which gave me an excuse to be a bit of a pussy, but in December 2004 I moved darn sarf and met Mark Lane and started training with him. Shortly afterwards I decided it was time to man up and try a bit harder. I did a couple of BDFPA comps (and guest lifted at the IDFPA Nationals whilst helping Mark) and then whilst training at Genesis I did a couple of BPC comps with the lads there.

I am lifetime drug free. I've lifted in BPC, BDFPA, BPF (when it was BAWLA, BWLA and GBPF) and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. From now on I will be competing single-ply, drug tested. That means GBPF and BDFPA/WDFPF at the moment.

My competition best lifts are:

Squat: 190 raw - April 2006 (I can do A LOT more than this now and often train heavier than this for reps in belt only)
275 IPF - October 2008
315 BPC - April 2007 (double-ply suit, no briefs)

Bench: 155 raw - April 2006
210 IPF - March 2009

Deadlift: 237.5 raw or equipped. I am really s**t at deadlift.

Total: 575 raw - April 2006 (I could do a fair bit more now)
712.5 IPF - October 2008
745 BPC - April 2007 (when weaker than I am now)

When I did the BPC comp in April 2007 I got a 515 sub total and then only totalled 745 - doh!

My last comp was the GBPF British Bench on Sunday. I just squeezed in to the 125s (124.8) and got 210 and missed 220 because I lifted my arse (I must be strong to be able to lift MY arse). I am going to try really hard to do what Uncle Barrie told me to with regards to bench technique. I was fourth (on bodyweight, whoops) out of twelve I think.

I have a number of goals for this year:

500kg sub total
500lbs bench press
300kg squat
A better deadlift than Priscilla Ribic - lol!

My long term goal is to get the 800kg total required to qualify for the GBPF British Championships @ 125kg.

Thanks everyone.

I've found a vid of my attempt at 220 on Sunday. I knew I'd taken up some of the slack in my arse, but wasn't sure I'd lifted it off the bench (until now). Once I can get the setup right, I won't be making that mistake again.
