cheers mate, i finally feel like deadlifts are getting some were now, think im guna try a 1rm on xmas eve, hopefully end the year with a new PB

i hope your right. 240 was end of year goal originally but think i was abit optimistic.
il be happy with 235 tho cos thats how much weight i bought wen i got my oly plates/bar, once i hit that i said il buy some more weights and wont be bothered about the cost cos it means iv got stronger. il see how next couple weeks go b4 deciding on a number to attempt.

was randomly sick this morning, cold has about f**ked off altho still got a sore throat. anyway.....

squats
20 x 5, 5
60 x 5
90 x 5
120 x 5
140 x 5 - belt on
paused squats
120 x 5 - belt on
110 x 5

cudnt find a pain free stance today so didnt go quite as heavy as i planned on all sets but 140x5 was todays main goal. 1 of the easier weeks iv had for a while on squats but even so the last rep of each set was quite challenging, doubt id of got more than 5 on 140. some reason they didnt feel as smooth as they did a couple weeks back (last week felt 'off' aswell)

db curls @ 20kgs x 8 x 2 sets

db hammers @ 30kgs x 5 x 2 sets

db inc curls @ 15kgs x 10 x 2 sets

rev curls @ 20-30kg x 10 x 3 sets

nothing special but happy to get the req sets done on squats this week, this is my new squat plan for a while. work up beltless, top set belted, drop weight n do a set paused, drop weight n do paused beltless. a good mix of belt/beltless and normal/paused and what i consider an ok amount of volume

cant train over weekend so squeezed pressing in today. arms feel really sore.

pissing it down so managed to fit the log inside so i can do standing press, altho not a lot of room n bit scared of breaking something or hurting myself as they was no were to ditch it if anything went wrong.

strict log - paused on chest
40 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 3
80 x 3 - tris hurting Unhappy
90 x 2
100 x 3 PB - clean wasnt the best so 1st rep was slightly off my ideal press line (started the press a bit low so it went a tiny bit forwards) and the worst rep out of the 3. 2nd rep was very smooth, 3rd rep slow but steady and consistant all the way to lockout.

triceps felt smashed all the way through since the 80kg log set. by time i got to 130 sets on bench i doubt i cud of got 2 reps on the 1st set, tri's cramped up at every lockout and was so painful i had to let out a short 'AARRGGHH' almost every rep. f**king agony and horrible all the way, n i thought this would be fun lol.

seriously no exageration on tricep pain. hopefully with better tris bench will be more enjoyable and il be good for more weight. i upped the rest to 90 instead of 60 to compensate for logging beforehand.

also very happy with log, im quite confident of a 110 strict before new year if i can make the clean Eek

Lol! Glad you enhoyed the pain Dom! Rest times are a wee bit too long tho, 75 secs absolute maximum, 45- 60 seconds better!

haha wud of been quite easy if it had been a normal day. tris were a bit tired last week after log but the 140 last week was way easier, comfier, faster than todays 120 let alone the 130 sets. i cudnt even press the 50kg very fast today cos of the pain.

i knew you'd comment on the rest times wen i decided to do 90s lol. honestly if id of done any less rest i wudnt of made it past 2 sets. had to massage in between the sets, i will try 60s next week. its definately a better option after log to get more work done.

cheers owen. i was rather confident id triple the 100 today, i did 105x2 tng other week, and 100x2 paused quite easy even with a cock up few weeks ago, and 100x3 seated which i find a lot harder.

new set up defo a keeper, widest iv ever been grip n feet wise. seems to work a lot better for me.

thanks paul, i hope your right. altho deadlift is only 1 of many weak links i have. i think i really need to work on speed with events and endurance/fitness to be competitive. aswell as bring static lifts up. a lot of work to be done next year thats for sure

the 3rd rep on 100 wasnt easy but certainly not a battle as i thoguth it wud be so tried the 4th but everything gave up by then. wanted at least 5 on the 90 set too but obviously tiring by this point.

db bench

did this instead of a down set for reps as the lad i train with was doing db's and iv not tried 50's for 9 month now, was curious to see how i did. didnt lay back on bench properly n ended up with left shoulder blade hanging over the side, felt like i was laid diagonal, also clipped the pins on the odd rep which threw me off and somehow cut my forearm. happy with 8 reps tho, reckon theirs 10 there with a bit more practice Cool

finished with 2 sets of flys n out of time.

wanted a vid of 100x3 but forgot to get camera out beforehand n i remembered just as i was physching up for it and they was also a bit of assing about with stuff in the way as it was.
