settle an argument between me and the misses...

I think it's best to drain the water off first, then add the flavouring, she likes to drain some water out, add the flavouring, then drain the rest of the water out!?!?!?

Obvious benefits to my way being much more of the flavour is retained, but it has the draw back of being harder to get an even coat over all the noodles, whereas her way is easier to mix, but you end up chucking a lot of the flavour away when you drain the water.

Not that my strict diet would allow me to be up at 20 minutes to midnight eating this s**t.........

This is a dilema I was faced with everyday on holiday.

I think the winner for me was your way.

good answer Wink

i'd like to add a third and untested option.

adding the flavouring to the water/noodles mixture, then allowing the water to boil off? could either be genious, or result in spending the next 20 minutes scraping burnt noodles from the bottom of the pan.

Cook 'em in the microwave uncovered, no draining necessary.

The one time I have eaten Super Noodles in recent memory thats why I did. I dindt allow every last drop of the water to go though, otherwise as you suggest you would be scrapping the pan for ages.

would you not just end up with a block of warm compact dry brittle noodles? I thought water was an integral part of their development from coming out of the packet to being ready to eat.

I have also used the 3rd method, the end result is good but it takes too much time to get there.

This for the win.

Don't know how you would have thought this though, its not like its written on the packet or anything... Confused

Option three is what I usually go for. Works quite well and could prevent any noodle related arguments between you and the wife.

I went with option 3 but do it this way:

Put pan on hob and turn to max heat.
Boil kettle.
Drop noodles into pan and slowly pour boiling water over them.
When noodles go soggy, pour most of the water away.
Add flavouring, stir and allow water to boil away.

This way speeds it up alot, and there's barely any waiting.
Probably just as quick as microwave as well.
