Strict
Powerclean first rep:
60x3,3,2,1,1,2 last rep was a bit on the ugly side. A definite grinder. Happy with them though as my shoulders and tris were shot already!

Happy with that session, showed a bit of self restraint (was going to go for 90kg PP but decided not to). PP is nearly up to my Power Jerk! Knee still sore so I can't squat. Even bodyweight squats are painful. Limits my training to deadlift, overhead and bench (which is gay) and the other BB s**t (also gay). Will just let it recover and I don't want to aggravate it.

Deadlift next session! (Saturday)

Deadlifts, session 3 of first cycle on 5/3/1:

Deadlift
Warm up, DOH:
60x5
100x5
Work sets:
140x5 DOH, wraps
157.5x3 DOH, wraps
175x3,3,3,3,3,3 (very first rep 175 DOH PB!!, 3rep PB too!! )

Very happy with all of them, tech is getting pretty solid now Happy

Then some barbell shrugs, barbell holds, plate pinches and face pulls x lots.

Great session, met a few students who train powerlifting. Much better training with a group of similar minded people! Grip is getting better. Happy with all of it.

Good session today, didn't quite have the energy (only a shake for breakfast) for any more Push Press but was happy with the strict. BN strict was good, will slowly bring up the weight every time i do them. Came out of the gym to another two inches of snow on the ground!

Good session that, some PBs which can only be a good thing. Training overhead multiple times a week seems to be working for me. BN press getting there slowly.

Today: deadlifts

Decided to skip the deload from the last week of first cycle on 5/3/1 and fired straight into first week of 2nd cycle.

Deadlift
Warm up, DOH:
60x8,8
100x5
Work sets:
122.5x5 DOH
142.5x5 DOH
162.5x5,5,5,3,2,2,2 (first rep on each set DOH then the rest mixed)

Sumo DL
Thought i'd try these to see if i benefit from them:
100x5,5,5

Then BB holds and plate pinches, 3 sets of each, releasing just before failure.

Felt like s**t going into the gym today. All were good lifts though so can't complain. First PL comp is Feb 19th, Scottish Divisional BDFPA.

Bath time.
