Well you have consider the 2nd and third as the first was 1977 so empire strikes back for 1980
And return of the Jedi in 1983

That solves the 1983 problem and also knocks off clint Eastwood from 1980 with any way which you an

Due to the cult following Star Wars definately is a purest Sci Fi genre which I think has it's own sub catagory too... In addition to this "James Bond" has its own genre now Happy

Cartoons, magazines, cards, chess board games... I didn't see the "Action Films" bit and just thought of films which moulded an era

Like Jurassic Park... (Also not an action film)

So maybe Star Wars should be in a Science Fiction poll instead of "Action Films" maybe...? Dunno, now that I've put it out there

We need Rick!

Is there enough Sci Fi to warrant a separate poll of this nature or is it fair to mould Sci Fi and Action together...?

Oh... Dilemmas and confusion!!!

The Matrix is Sci Fi surely...???

In the words of Penfold... "Crumbs!"

No Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee or the main man Chuck Norris films in there???

Look at the actors... We have Arnie, Stallone, any room for Stathom or Van Damme?

I dont know, but as long as it has it is a action film then I think it is ok, it`s upto the sugden tho. If you think about it, it`s only 33% science.

kirkynick said:I mentioned the Empire Strikes Back near the beginning somewhere, but asked if it is an action film or not. Plenty of action there, that's for sure.

I would actually consider James Bond films to be action films.

They have their own Genre as a stand alone topic... But I am in agreement with you

Especially with the Matrix in there

Not as easy as it first appears... I mean lots of action films are arguably potentially somewhat sciency fictiony like Mission Impossible, Bourne Identity, Aliens, Predator to name a few

Anyway

You will get views from both camps... Hense Rick being of immense help here when he reads the thread

In the mean time the official catagorisation will have to be respectfully disregarded Grin

Very popular and wil get many votes due to the humour and the fact it's only £3 in Asda, great story line and varied pace

Excellent blend of cultures, bad guys, tricky situations and above all comedy

Is it not more of a comedy than an action film though? I dunno... But the fight scenes were funny and also very well corriographed
