Not as much as you would think only 1 Bulgarian totalled over 900 and that was 906 for the gold medal

I recon if you these numbers your in the mix with to big guys

330-350 squat
210-230 bench
340-360 deadlift

Trouble is there are guys capable of a lot more just can't get it down in the platform and with there only being 2 classic worlds so far we are still finding out the limits

Need to worry about beating lifters in this country before I can think of going international aha

Have to say I'm a big fan of your approach. Lots of sets, doubles and triples - the sort of training I wish I'd been directed towards years ago. Can I ask, is this the standard sort of approach for IPF/GBPF lifters that you know?

loal, I'm trying to avoid wasting time on the internet. Sugden doesn't count.

unfortunately volume tends to injure me, but it seems to get you jacked

Thanks James

I talk to a lot of guys in the gbpf/ipf about training and it appears the high volume approach has increased in popularity now unequipped lifting as burst onto the seen simply because you can train with 80-90% of your comp lifts multiple time per week for multiple sets unfortunate this doesn't work as well In the kit as using those percentages that often would just lead to burning out that why a lot of the ipf guys use a very basic westside barbell style of training with great results

The smolov and shieko squat and bench program's seem to be very popular amongst lifters and a style of training seems to have exploded on the scene similar Tom martins style of training which is more of a Bulgarian style of training where you work upto a max single, double or triple for the day on the chosen lift then work on back off sets

As for my own programming I came across the Russian squat routine in my first year of my training and decided to run it with great results I then tried it on the bench with even better results then I found running the first 3 weeks over and over again year round worked very well and I have been playing around with the basic temple ever since

Thanks for that response milsy.

Over the years I have gravitated to more and more regular squatting in particular, to the point where I now squat every session, doing something very loosely based around sheiko percentages. It's mentally far different than how I have trained at points when doing strongman but I think it's a far better and healthier approach.

Excellent sessions Milsy.

Russian squat for bench you say? This intrigues me.
