Worked upto a fast double with 160 on the bench and a few singles with 180 on the squat

Comp out the way

Long long day set off at 5.30 in the morning got home at 2 in the morning took my last deadlift at 10.30 its crazy to think we have more lifters at out divisionals than some Feds have at there worlds 74 lifters competing yesterday would have been knocking on 80-90 if entry's had been accept which arrived after the cut off all makes for very good powerlifting people having to use gamesmanship to actually win not just going out lifting PBS

Also big shout out to the yne in terms of strict drug testing a wada approved tester had to be flown in from Germany as non were available in the uk for the weekend this was all paid for by the Yorkshire north east federation including flights and accommodation for the tester

Any way onto the lifts I weighed in at 119.7 and after a long day of sitting round I knew there was going to be much in the tank

Squats

Bench I knew I need to bench big to win as my main competitor out deadlifter me by a good 40kg

200 got held for a long pause and just lost the drive

Going into the deadlifts I knew my main competition had a deadlift pb of 290 kg this would mean if I pulled 255 he would have to pull 292.5 looking at the subtotals this where its vital having a coach on te day which lucky for me was Duncan (DrD) we decided to open 240 Luke who I was lifting against went 260 I pulled my 255 he jumped to 280 and just missed it leaving me with a higher total and taking the win no need for a 3rd lift

Cheers rob. Yeh so far so good didn't push it yesterday training has lacked the volume so didn't want to risk anything until I had built up a better base

Lovely lifting yesterday mate, looking nice and strong and played it well for the win. Benching looked really sharp, that comp 200 isn't far away, the 191 was quick so there is definitely more in there already.

Jack i think it can work the other way if you have someone think your good for alot more they may slip up by pushing it in the warm ups and either burning out or bombing on the platform
