I think you will find that 170 was equipped.

He did 162.5 raw as a masters 4

I’m 51 years old and have been getting stronger the last five years.

I’m lifetime drug free and compete in the USAPL Raw Master Bench Press (U.S.) at 120+. Have cut my bodyweight slowly over the past two years and will be ready to compete at 120 when meets start up again.

I’m selective in my training and have a strong reason for every exercise I do.
I stay away from high volume programming.

Staying healthy is key.
Doing the boring things like getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, eating good, etc. adds up over time and allows me to keep training.

A week or so off a few times a year also pays dividends.

AMH has posted some great content on this forum over the past few years- thank you for that.
One of his points (as I understood it) that I’ve thought over a lot was the idea that your body will send pain signals and make you think you are weak/injured/sick- not because you really are, but because it doesn’t want to change/adapt.
This is a walking a fine line- but sometimes I just need to tell my body that we’re pushing forward.

I hit a 140 bench last night, a lifetime natty PB. My squat and deadlift still suck, but I'm still happy!

Edit - how much do elbow sleeves add?

If you're willing to go with some real circulation stoppers you can get around 10kg easily enough from double ply.

I'll get some triple ply ones that are one size smaller than my current sleeves Grin

Edit: I just looked into the reviews on the Odin triple ply sleeves and some chap wrote the following

"Buy them, love them
I got a pair of these for xmas 2013, and in the past month I've been so impressed by them that I've just ordered the rest of the Odin line.

Not the cheapest product on the market, but without question well worth the extra money.

Buy these and I'm sure you will lift happily ever after Happy

I’ve never used a wrap or a sleeve in my entire life, I should maybe try them.

I have MASSIVE regrets for not using knee sleeves in my youth. I don't squat an empty bar without knee sleeves nowadays. I use elbow sleeves for the same reason - BEFORE my elbows end up like my knees!

I stand by it.
I only moved away from triple ply because I can't clean anything in them.
If you are working from a rack or just benching there's no downside to triple ply sleeves.
