Cheers. As we well know, 0.7 seconds can make a big difference!

My 2-minute splits showed 171, 174 and 176. Are these average readings or the end of each two minutes? It never seemed to go above mid 170s.

super excellent session that should give you mega confidence going into a 2km TT

on that point ....... if you were to change your mind and do the British , I would set up the laptop in the shed and you could just turn up , warm up and blast out the race.

our races shouldnt clash and i would just leave you to it.

I know its a bit tricky with the lockdown and everything ....

if not ..... you get a less pressured oppertunity to get a really well deserved PB !! (of 6:39.5)

6.39.5 would be ace, do you think maybe he could go .2 faster?

I'll be aiming for under 6:40, and I'd take 6:39.5 right now! Like I said to Bim, 0.7 seconds is noticeable when you're near the top end, and getting under 6:39.4 would make it closer to a full second faster per 500m than today.

Boar - thanks for the kind offer, but I don't want to inconvenience you, or for that matter, put you and your family at risk of a) catching corona and b) having the neighbours talk about you. I'll just knock out a 2k in the Dungeon in a couple of weeks...

... of 6:39.3

Tuesday

Squat
150kg x 2
170kg x 1
180kg x 1
190kg x 1

Bench press
100kg x 2
110kg x 1
120kg x 1
125kg x 1

Deadlift
170kg x 1
200kg x 1
215kg x 1

10kg up on last time. 5kg on the squat, 5kg on the deadlift and zilch on the bench press. I need to have a think about what I can do about that...

Solid effort on the squat and deadlift. Bench is a funny beast - I think it responds more strongly to bodyweight and eating than either of the other lifts. I've always found it hard to put much on my bench unless I'm a) just focusing on bench or b) bulking.

How about a switch to training push press? It's much more manly anyway! Grin

I agree - I would need to make an effort to gain weight or do much more pressing to make further improvements on the bench. I’ll try a bit more pressing and see how that goes.

I can’t push press because the garage roof isn’t high enough.

That's a bummer about not being able to press? Do it outside perhaps? It's my favourite lift.
