Ever experienced this? I have a couple of times, when I was a child.

Some people think this explains 'alien abduction' experiences because a sense of presence can accompany sleep paralysis (I didn't get this). Not sure how this explains implants though...

I bet you've had a few things 'implanted' in your time!

To clarify, when I say time, what I actually mean is anus.

Perv! It'll never be as badly damaged as yours.

Oh, that reminds me. As you're having a Sugden catch-up, I started a thread about wind socks fairly recently.

one time when i was a harry kid, i woke up in the night and looked out of the window to see a UFO. Now i believe that this could either be explained by the neighbours thing they had outside, how do i explain it? it was an orange thing than span round in the wind. Not quite a wind sock, bit more of a wind spinny thing. OR more likely it was that iu entirely dreamt that i looked out of the window and saw that, in my dream mistaking it for a UFO. I can't remember the point of my story, nor can i remember if rods were involved or not, so i will terminate this post here. may the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman

I had this several times as an adult but I was a sleep deprived very depressed weirdo at that point.
I have still never experienced anything like it. Having been able to open my eyes only to the point of very small viewing slits. The pressure of tiredness trying to force me back in to a sleep against my will and suddenylt realising I cannot move, nor even speak. It could just as well have been an alien.

I get this regularly,

The first time i remember having it was after a very heavy night out, spent the day hungover with the worst hangover imaginable, I went to bed, and was in the semi conscious sleep state,

I remember hearing the growling of a dog, so i opened my eyes and i saw a rabid bulldog stood over me barking and foaming at the mouth, My instinct was to push the dog off the bed, but i couldn't,I was completely paralyzed.

Tried to wake my girlfriend up by shouting, nothing was coming out apart from a weird croak. Closed my eyes as i though my face was about to get eaten, opened my eyes again at it was gone, at this point my girlfriend grabbed my arm and said "What you breathing so weird for?" this shocked me into full consciousness.

A number of things cause it,

Dehydration, caffeine, depression, sleep deprivation, exhaustion, stress, ( the usual suspects )

I've experienced them a few times! I think they're great, maybe that's what heroin feels like who knows.

I never related them to UFOs though.
To me it's just like dreaming but being conscious that I'm dreaming, meaning I can influence it and do wonderful things. Then I wake up fully Unhappy

How about 'old hag' syndrome as opposed to UFO's, never experienced this(other than the wife of course) but creeped me out when I saw a program about it when I was a kid.
Don't let the Baba Yaga get you.

I've researched it a bit,

As it varies with different people, some people just get paralyzed for a bit then wake up, Others hallucinate (like me).

The part of the brain that keeps your body still at night is still active when you are awake, causing the paralysis.

The part of the brain that induces dreams is still active, however, because you can see objects in your room, your brain automatically assumes the worst possible scenario as it senses you are in danger, because your body is paralyzed.

so say if there are clothes hung up on your wardrobe, you brain will assume it to be some sort of demon like fantasy creature / Intruder / animal.

If you keep eye contact with whatever it is, after a moment it will turn back into clothes / furniture, as you regain movement.

You kind of get used to the nightmarish creatures as you are aware that you are having sleep paralysis. The worst one i had is where i though an intruder was pointing a gun at me and i couldn't move. I thought that s**t was real!

I've had it when sleep deprived (last time I had family over and every time I was just drifting off, I'd get woken up.)

I usually have it with sounds but not hallucinating. Last time it was a ball of paper rustling up and down my room, and something about Will Smith. It happened four times in a row and was just annoying that I couldn't move.

I now know when I'm experiencing sleep paralysis and just wait it out.

Ask questions in that state of consciousness and you will given enlightenment.

I've had it before and all I could hear was this loud buzzing sound like one of those old door buzzers you got in flats.
