Hi guys,

Results Gym is holding The Silver City StrongMan/Woman comp on Sunday 28th September 2014.

Events as follows in no particular order;

1) Car Carry over 15m. Our friends in the Broch have kindly loaned us their new car carry for this event. Athletes carry the car (very similar to the Yoke) for 15m in the fastest time possible but with a time limit of 90 seconds. If the athlete does not complete the course, the total distance carried will be measured from the start line to the front bumper.
U90s – 300kg
U105s – 340kg
Women will use the conventional Yoke and it will weigh 120kg.

2) Axle (2”) deadlift from the floor for as many reps as possible in 90 seconds. Straps and belts allowed but NO suits.
U90s – 200kg
U105s – 240kg
Women – 100kg

3) Viking Press for max weight, last man standing. Each athlete will press the frame above his/her head. Elbow sleeves are allowed and belts also. After each press the weight will be increased by 10kg, women by 5kg. Athletes may increase this weight, but the weight must still be in a 10kg denomination eg if you press 160, you can jump to 180 or 190. Women can also increase their next weight but in 5kg jumps.
U90s start at 80kg
U105s start at 100kg
Women start at empty frame. (We are fabricating a new Viking press frame and it will be lighter, so the weight will be confirmed shortly)

4) Frame Squat for max weight, last man standing. Athletes will squat to the depth of the safety legs fitted (this is roughly the same as thighs parallel to the ground) and squat the frame back up again. Safety legs must touch the floor for squat to be judged as a “good squat”. Referees decision is final. After each squat the weight will be increased by 10kg, women by 5kg. Athletes may increase this weight, but the weight must still be in a 10kg denomination eg if you squat 160, you can jump to 180 or 190. Women can also increase their next weight but in 5kg jumps.
U90s will start at 120kg
U105s will start at 150kg
Women will start with an empty frame (weight of empty frame is 50kg)
Knee wraps and belts are allowed, but NO suits.

5) Medley. Farmers walk for 10m, then tyre flip for 10m, and finally a sandbag carry for 10m. Fastest time wins, but with a time limit of 90 seconds. If the athlete does not complete the course, then the distance travelled will be measured. Distance will be measured from where the front of the famers are dropped, or, to where the front of the tyre lands, or, to where the sandbag lands. There are no drops allowed on the farmers or the sandbag, if you drop it, you’re out.
U90s – 100kg farmers, 300kg tyre, 100kg sandbag.
U105s – 120kg farmers, 300kg tyre, 110kg sandbag.
Women – 50kg farmers, tyre weight TBC, 50kg beer keg

6) Atlas Stones. 5 Stones loaded onto a platform. Stones will be located 2m from the platform. Fastest time wins, but with a 75 second time limit.
U90s – 100kg, 110kg, 120kg, 130kg, 140kg, 150kg.
U105s – 110kg, 120kg, 130kg, 140kg, 150kg, 160kg.
Women – 50kg,60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg.

Trophies for the two 1st placed StrongMen and StrongWoman, Medals for 2nd and 3rd place. Prizes will also be given to the top 3 placed athletes in each catagiry.
