This log will serve as somewhere for me to document my training leading up to having surgery on my shoulder for the second time, then my recovery beyond that. From there, I intend to get stronger and go way beyond my current best lifts. I will start counting personal bests from post op until I surpass my current numbers.

Best gym lifts
Squat 210kg
Bench 111kg
Deadlift (sumo) 262.5kg
Deadlift (conventional) 220kg
OHP 87.5kg

Comp lifts, u74 Junior - (29th November 2014, first one)
Squat 192.5kg
Bench 90kg
Deadlift 220kg
Total 502.5kg

Brief history of my shoulder issues.
November 2011 - Rupture of my pectoralis major in one of my first gym sessions.
February 2012 - Surgery to have my pectoralis major re-attached.
March 2012 - Rupture of the long head of my biceps on the same side.
November 2012 - The first dislocation of my right shoulder at a Judo competition.
Now - Recurrent dislocations of my right shoulder due to previous incidents causing instability.
In the near future - Latarjet procedure to prevent these recurrent dislocations.

I'm viewing this as my third chance to start again and to look after my body properly this time.

Neither do I, and it will lead to a better outcome in the end anyway!

I doubt I will still be competing at u74kg by the time I'm hitting those kind of numbers. For someone my height I probably should end up at u83kg or u93kg eventually.

Ive had bankarts lesion repair on one shoulder, and a dislocation on the other.
You be able to build on that already big squat while youre rehabbing your shoulder post opHappy

Ouch! I have dislocated my other one previously too, but that was when I was 13/14 and I've had no issues since. How long did it take to get your pressing bac to a decent level?
Hopefully I can! If all goes to plan il be squatting the bar again 4/5weeks post op then slowly bring the numbers back up. I really need to build up my posterior chain so will be able to do loads of hamstring curls and back extensions until I can get back on a barbell too.

Neither can I Paul! Can't wait to do some Judo again too.

Yer, but you can say this... whereas I can't reallyTongue I ain't pressing 100x15 oh strict.
And good luck Adam. And what field of medicine are you going to specialise in?

A lifetime goal of mine is only 100kg x 1.. One day!

I'm not 100% decided, I quite enjoyed plastics and orthopaedics, though sports medicine is an expanding field at the moment. I really enjoy biomechanics too. I'm just finishing a rotation in paediatrics and to be honest quite enjoyed it, though I don't see it as something that I'd want to spend my whole career doing.
