Member 4601, 118 posts | Hi I'm hoping someone may be able to help me as I know there are a few doctors that post on the site My father is in hospital at the moment and has been for the last month and doing really well up until today. They'd taken him off oxycodone when he came in and he was thriving without it, but for some unknown reason his medical team have put him back on it yesterday just as he was due to come home but he has since nose dived. (can't understand why they would alter his medication as they were discharging him and he wasn't in any more pain but that's not the issue, so I won't ask you to comment on his treatment as I know that could be a bit awkward) When he was completely lucid and doing really well earlier in the week he expressed that he never wanted to go back on that stuff...it was completely rotting his brain. Is giving someone medication against their wishes assault? I'm just trying to think of a way to get them to stop the medication as they don't want to do anything till next week when his team gets back and by then I fear it will be too late and he will be hooked on it if he isn't already. | ||

Brownbear and dr_hazbun are doctors. Not like Dr Pepper is a doctor, actual real doctors. | ||
