Back squat low bar: 70kgx5, 120kgx4, 170kgx2, 2x2x190kg felt heavy but to be expected as only 4th week low bar, 1x5x160kg Bench press: 70kgx5, 90kgx3, 110kgx1, 120kgx1, 130kgx1, 1x0x135kg missed RHS lockout shoulder flared, 1x0x135kg, missed in the middle Next week will wave down squats and deadlifts apart from normal bench will keep pushing it and the declines and inclines for reps will build strength. | ||

Yeah was in, should be in a lot more on weekends, probably be back this Saturday though not sure what time. The squats are coming back nicely, like you say only a few weeks back doing low bar so you just need to be patient with them. | ||

Well on Sat I'm always unfortunatley coming straight from work so can't get to training before 1pm, maybe see you if your still in wood be good to catch up as it's been ages! | ||

The best gains I remember you making was when we did normal style heavy bench twice a week that year we ended up at Venice for one of the sessions. Might be an idea to try that again for a while bud?? | ||

Very impressive pulling for someone still so tired. Was a bit of an eye opener for Tam I think. Don't know if he's seen anyone deadlift that much before let alone a sub 90kg guy deadlift that much. Cleverer than YOU Member 1228, 1046 posts | Tues 18/10/11 Back squat low bar: 70kgx5, 120kgx4, 140kgx3, 3x6x160kg Bench press: 60kgx5, 80kgx5, 6x6x100kg Plan was to do one or two sets of 10 working up to 160kg on the squat but realised at rep 6 stamina and lung capacity not up for it so did 3x6, will aim for this over the coming weeks, when got to bench didn't really have a plan and got to 100kg and felt bit of shoulder discomfort using my normal bar path, changed tech on 2nd set setting line few cm higher on the chest, and felt a big difference, like the pecs and delts were being used properly on the start, all this time been lowering sternum using mostly triceps to drive, this felt like I was doing it properly first time ever, think I've discovered my optimum bar path will keep this up each week see how it goes, that was reason behind the volume to replicate each set this new bar path, felt great, plus no lower back arch only lateral arch with shoulder blades squeezed together allowing me better foot positioning and better leg drive and stability, seems I've been benching the wrong way for years! | ||
