What's the rush Ben? You're still mega young in this game and those who seem to develop strength really quickly often tend to 'go away' equally quickly.

Set yourself some solid, but realistic goals and make steady progress year on year for the foreseeable. You can/will be a pressing beast one day I'm sure, but you don't want to set yourself up for disappointment.

140kg jerk, 125kg log for next year would be good targets to aim for. Obviously if you get more then great! 3-5 years from now and you can be looking at the beastly pressing numbers that you desire...

Your right on every point mate, but its difficult when I feel pressing is the only thing holding me back from doing bigger comps.

I thought those situations were normally due to just smashing loads of gear not the actual getting stronger bit?

Your pressing will get there Ben as long as you have a good plan and you are consistent with it.

Unit - I think the 'smashing loads of gear' helps contribute to the injuries which means people come and go quickly...

what's your technique like at the moment as far as overheads on a bar-(don't think I've ever seen a vid of you on axle overhead) , I think to develop raw overhead power it's best to use/focus mainly on the simplest exercise and do less log and/or do it after axle/oly bar work and carry that over

Night Of Strength 4, Ran by the bloke who runs strongman Bolton

14 inch deadlift - Straps and a belt

230
275
300

Clean and Press - Power clean and push press

90
100
110 - Tried once, didn't pop head through then really exploded and it flew, lockout was tough for the last inch but still nailed it.

Happy with tonight seeing as I haven't tapered my training off at all
