I think you need to compartmentalize your life, me at home is different to me in comp. I never let a bad workout or run of bad workouts affect the rest of my life I did get obsessed but I didn't let it affect my day to day life. To maintain healthy relationships you can't let it alter how you behave with others. My partner would describe me as being obsessed but it shouldn't stop you from having normal relationships.

Also, much like aaron_lohan I practice compartmentalization with it too, I don't talk to my partner about lifting unless she brings it up, the same with anyone in my life who doesn't though. Plus she definitely enjoys that I have something else going on in my life than work/ pub/ tv/ social media.

That might change soon as I have a plan to put my new gym in a section of the dining room as it's got a solid concrete floor where my alternate hasn't .. just 8ft x 4ft with platform and rack on top of platform.. hardly unreasonable I think
