My GF was actually taking it more serious than me when we met...So calorie counting and avoiding social events. I talked her out of all that and she now eats a lot more enjoyable diet and goes out a lot more.I find if you're natty once you've gone past your noob gains the effort to return gains is majorly off. Yyou may as well just coast and enjoy other aspects of your life. | ||

I train mostly at Lunchtime so it doesn't affect her but sometimes feel a bit annoyed as I cant quite get done all in time. She was supportive to a point when I attempted to compete a few years back. I think she came to 3 of my 10 comps, but our daughter was a baby back then so not too fair to drag her out / travel for every comp. Trying to factor a SM day in used to cause issues, again this was a few years ago. She is glad I do it as I enjoy to though. One of her mate has recently started traning strongman and compted twice, now being coached by Shane, so she's tried to get my Mrs into it but she aint interested and I certainly wouldn't force her! | ||

It will happen with lots of different situations I realise but Im obviously exposed to it with lifting a lot more | ||

You can get stronger or fitter, but naturals do have size limits that they hit pretty quickly. Very few have the natty genetics to be big and lean. Most big natties are fat! | ||

I am neither a cnut about it and it doesn't dominate our whole family life. This isn't to say it's all roses. Bit she keeps fit and healthy herself so understands that. How much training I do is limited by work and family anyway. Atm down to twice a week and prob will be for rest of this year. Plus I only do a few comps a year plus a bit of loading helping here and there Not that she'd rather me train for an hr and not the 3hrs it can be, but there you go. | ||

Sadly we all end up in that state like John said. I want to have an entry in the record books and be remembered for being a strong mother f**ker. But at the same time I don't want to end up living a lonely life in a caravan tripping over used insulin and tren needles at age 45 either. I guess the way forward is to find a happy medium! Those of who who have a woman that cooks for you are blessed, if I want to eat 8 times a day I f**king cook them is what I get. Which is fair enough really! Just saying make sure you appreciate it lads! (My post sounds a little less morbid/deep after adding that). Sounds to me as she is judging you a bit harshly there though mate. But I used to know a chap who was famously strong unfortunately he has suffers many health problems and some are terminal,I told him i was sorry about his illness but he should remember that his name is in the history books and most people know who you are ,not many people get to that in their lifetime and he should be proud to be a legend,seemed to give him a spark for a while. But yes we will all end up pushing up daisies so achieve what you can and not just lifting,any goals.That's what I say | ||

She encourages me to train and even motivates me to train on days I can't be arsed. She also cooks all of my food to agreed macro amounts. (Not even kidding). She's a diamond. To be fair though I wouldn't entertain living with a person who didn't fully support me. I expect it. I fully support her too in whatever she decides to do to. Basics really isn't it. | ||
