Is it realistic to think you can go from a 140kg x 3 150kg 1RM to around 170kg/180kg 1RM in around 14 months?

I've got it in my head that it can be done based on how I felt with the weights I hit. didn't grind anything. Nothing was particularly hard at the end of the training cycle.

To explain, had surgery so everything I did remained static/s**t for around 18 months as I underwent rehab.

Nice 12 week training period and I'm past where I was. Juts think I can really push on now if I give it some welly.

Idk. You are the best judge. If you feel like you can hit 170 in a year then i guess you can. Its not a big deal. Just keep training and see where you end

You'll do very well to achieve that. Good luck!

I suppose it's an incredibly open question...but yeah, it's doable.

Completely dependant on you as in individual and what you do in the next 14 months so impossible to say if it's going to happen for you. What I will say however is that if you don't think you will do it then you definately have less chance of making it happen. Be positive and don't limit yourself wondering if it's 'realistic'.

i wouldn't get worried about a goal so lofty and long in the future.
there's always a risk in pursuing much bigger numbers you start training too heavy too often
in an attempt to stay on track and end up getting injured or burnt out.

think no longer than 8-12 week mesocycles aiming to add a little bit each time.
even averaging a 2.5kg gain every 8 weeks would yield 17.5kg in a year.

That's my thoughts. Small gains in 6 - 8 week microcycles. Stick with reps mainly like I have been doing and then when ready, go for it.

I'm doing a lot of front squatting too and not far off hitting 220kg on that and out of all of the training I do, when my front squatting is on point my push press and deadlift goes up.

When I start using 2 ply sleeves, I imagine I'll be able to eek out a bit more when it comes to the time to try it.

Its certainly doable, but given your ability to repeatedly hurt yourself id focus more on short term goals and injury avoidance.
If you spend a year making small gains every couple of months and not hurting yourself you likely wont be too far away from this next year.

Train the strict press heavy and push press with light like 60-70% x 8 x 3.
