The pain was like a dull ache in the upper/outer part of my bicep before it tore. Best bet is to just get it looked at! can't be too safe. Trust me from experience, tearing a bicep is not fun Hmmm. If it's getting looked at it's gonna be in works time! Cheers for the info!

If you have done that, it will hurt in your shoulder and the biceps will be a funny shape as Terry has mentioned, something we call the 'popeye' sign. If yours is sore when you contract the biceps but not a funny shape or bruised it's more likely to be some inflammation of the tendon without frank rupture, or possibly a pull or partial tear of the muscle belly itself. Without having a look at you it is difficult to say so go and see a doctor. This may be of some use http://www.shoulderdoc.co.uk/article.asp?article=722§i...

![]() Thing thinks he can decide what goes here. He cant Member 354, 1452 posts | Is it poss to have this same thing at the elbow end? I've had nothing but problems for months if I turn my hands outwards, I can't do any curls (!) or pulls with hands in that position. But pressings fine or if hands are facing inwards. I did some pullups stupidly while cold and felt a pop.

Sorry to jump on your thread buddy, worth a read though, very informative. orthogate.org/patient-education/elbow/distal-biceps-rupture.html Is the bicep in question a lot shorter than your other one? Is there a noticeably large gap between your elbow and the start of your bicep? If so it could well be. There was a video of a member on here's bicep visibly snapping when doing a deadlift. If you watch that (if someone is kind enough to find it) it'll become obvious. :edit: this pic highlights a distal tear. http://ajs.sagepub.com/content/26/2/295/F1.large.jpg
