Haha yeah...

I'm backing off with weights currently and will have a week or 2 off next week or the week after and then see how my niggles are and head is when I get back to training

For now it's just easy sessions with high reps!

Well we'll see... I'm addicted to shifting heavy weights but just admit do like reposing with them too ( usually other peoples 1RM's) haha Grin

Just want to see if backing off the heavy stuff for a while does give me some leeway etc...

Have you had any surgery done on your shoulder ? What if that's the best plan of action, iv been reading up on it an it's a minimum of 6 weeks in a sling and a total of 9 months of recovery. Unhappy

Nope and hoping not to either!

I can't cope with 9monrhs just training legs!

Lol you wouldn't have to train legs for 9 months but I do know there's a lot I physio involved, I think you can do some gentle pressing after a month or two from the sling coming off.

I'm hoping with plenty of rehab and physio it will heal naturally but that apparently can take over a year depending on the size of the tear.

Yup... Took me 12 months to recover fully from tearing my rotator cuff!

In serious mate, I hope it's just a minor tweak and not a big tear. Being out of the game for 12 months sounds horrific, not sure I'd have the balls to get back on the horse after that.

I'm just being a fanny lol

I wasnt out of the game for 12months but any heavy pressing was out of the question for at least 4months until I felt it was ok and even then it was just with light weights

Basically had to start right back at grass roots and start pressing again adding weight when I felt I was capable of managing it etc...

It did have it's ups as I hammered out some great pressing and solid PB's Happy

Executive decision taken and I'm going to leave training be until I see the docs on Tuesday 18th (next week)

Give myself a week off (catch up with gardening tonight/tomorrow) & then we're away until Monday

Shoulder is sore/tight this morning but been and done some chins in the garage and some press-ups & dips and it's not too bad now I've loosened it off

I'll aim to get referred to a specialist next week and see how it goes from there

But for a while I'll have to back off heavy pressing so will stick with lighter reps & higher reps and will train legs 2-3 times a week and hammer cardio more

Sounds like a good idea mate stalling for a week or two to help recovery has got to be better than having forced time out for a longer period of time.
